          The aim of the education is to impart knowledge, lay bare facts in their right perspective and imbibe values in the malleable pupils of an institution.
        To this end KV Thane was established as one amongst the many prestigious Kendriya Vidyalayas of the Country in the year 1981. Since then, the school has come a long way,while paving the way for many meritorious students who have attained distinguished heights in the careers of their choice.
       The faculty has all along strived to achieve academic excellence and total development of personality of its students.
The four-fold mission of the school is to:
 Cater to the educational needs of children whose parents are employed by central government bodies and who are transferred time to time. Thus the school provides a common programme of education.
 Pursue excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.
 Initiate and promote experimentation and innovation by collaborating with other educational bodies.
 Develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of Indianess in the children.

      The school has pupil strength of more than1302 and faculty strength of 58, thereby providing an adequate student teacher ratio.
